The Secretariat of Culture of the Nation will be present at arteBA´10.

The Secretariat of Culture of the Nation maintains a strong federal commitment to contemporary Argentine art, one which it renews on a variety of fronts: among them, by sustaining the traditional National Salon of the Visual Arts, lending permanent technical assistance to public museums throughout the country, organizing important travelling exhibitions, printing specialized publications, and participating in special events such as arteBA. In this last activity –and as a special commemoration of the May Bicentenary–, the Secretariat will be a presence at the Fair through an outstanding group of works that are among the treasures of the National Museum of Fine Arts –works that will be on view at its stand.

Restoring the reputation of great forgotten names from our nation’s sculptural tradition likewise constitutes another of the goals of the Secretariat’s official agenda. Noteworthy in this regard is the anthology show devoted to Joaquín Ezequiel Linares, organized by the Dirección Nacional de Patrimonio y Museos de la Secretaría [National Heritage Directorate and Museums of the Secretariat] in collaboration with the Sívori Museum of the City of Buenos Aires and the Ente Cultural [Cultural Board] of Tucumán. After its exhibition in the City of Buenos Aires, in San Salvador de Jujuy and in Salta, the show will move on to the Timoteo Navarro Museum in Tucumán and the Emilio Caraffa Museum in Córdoba.
