The Third EN OBRA (“Under Construction”) Prize to be Awarded at arteBA'10

For the third time, a “EN OBRA” Prize [“’Under construction’] will be awarded at the ArteBA’10 Contemporary Art Fair. This is an important initiative distinguishing the art production emerging within “Barrio Joven Chandon” [Chandon’s Young Quarter]. The prize consists of the award of economic support in cash, coming from altruistic donors, to artists and/or participating gallery projects.

The EN OBRA Prize was established by Juan Cambiaso in 2008, and each year encourages Argentine businesses and individuals to join in patronage activity, and discover what a valuable contribution this practice can make within the art system.

This year those who’ve pledged their support are: the company Tantum, Beatriz and Pedro Stier, and Juan and Tiny Cambiaso, pooling together a total of $26,000 to be distributed among prize recipients.

For this third, 2010 edition of the prize, Alejandro Ikonicoff and Roxana Sucari have brought together an Award Jury chosen specifically for their eye as seasoned collectors. The members of this jury are: Juan Borchet, Alexandra de Royere, Alejandro Londero, Gustavo Mosteiro, Guillermo Navone, Patricia Pearson and Guillermo Ruberto. The selection criterion for award recipients has been the exclusive consideration of the jury, with no influence from the prize’s initiator.
