X ARTEBA AWARD

arteBA wants to specially acknowledge all the people whose cooperation has been central for the accomplishment of important goals throughout the years. For this purpose arteBA has created x arteBA Award.

Sticking to its tradition of supporting the younger generations of artists, arteBA called all those artists who had participated in the first five editions of the arteBA-Petrobras Award for the Visual Arts and invited them to design an object as a symbol for the x arteBA Award. Miguel Harte’s object was selected as the winner of this contest.

In 2008, the x arteBA Award was handed out for the first time and it was given to the Ambassador of Brazil, Mr. Mauro Vieira, whose collaboration towards the participation of Brazilian Art Galleries during different editions of arteBA Fair was essential. Andrés von Buch was also honored with x arteBA Award in recognition of his worthy cooperation that meant that a piece of Argentine Art, an artwork by Alejandro Puente, be present at the MOMA (New York). Sergio Quattrini also received this distinction due to his efforts towards the implementation of the Acquisition Program of the MALI Museum at Lima at arteBA’08 and finally, the x arteBA Award was also given to Adriana Rosenberg, who besides sponsoring the Press Room of the different editions of arteBA Fair, made the participation of relevant foreign guests possible.

During arteBA’09, the x arteBA Award was given to Nelly Craveri in recognition of her generous donation to the National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA) of “Trianguconcéntricos” by Elías Crespín during arteBA’08.
